HISTORY

In 1968, God brought deep conviction, through his written word, of sharing the gospel to nations that have never heard it before.

The apostle Paul said:

I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else's foundation, but as it is written,

"Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand."

This is the reason why I have so often been hindered from coming to you.

Romans 15.20-22 ESV

It was recognised that there were still nations who were unreached, meaning there was no knowledge of God, no Bible, and no churches. Mongolia was one of these nations.

In 1971, work began concentrating on translating the Bible into Mongolian, so that Mongolian speakers could hear the word of God in their own language. Right from the start Mongolians were told of the Gospel. Bible translation has always gone hand in hand with telling the Gospel.

In 1978, the first Mongolian came to faith in Jesus Christ.

Since then, the work has changed and grown. God has brought more of his people from various nations and backgrounds to be involved in the work. Each person plays a different but necessary part in the work, as God has assigned them. No individual is given credit or attention, as the work focuses on God’s purposes not people’s. This means that all the work, whether it be done on the field, or by trustees, volunteers, prayer partners or donors, is for God and to God.

Closeness to God has been crucial. God has been utterly faithful in leading and providing for the work according to his purpose. And so, despite facing challenges and ‘impossibilities’ over many years, the work has continued and advanced the gospel amongst the utterly lost. Praise God that nothing is too hard for Him!

But there is still much to do. There are still so many unreached people with no hope. As a result, and by God’s grace, the work continues today.

OUR BELIEFS

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Rain Cloud
Watercolor Brush 6

This is the basic truth of Christianity as revealed in Holy Scripture, including:

a. The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.

b. The sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption, and final judgement.

c. The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given, and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

d. The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the Fall, rendering man subject to God's wrath and condemnation.

e. The full deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God; his virgin birth and his real and sinless humanity; his death on the cross, his bodily resurrection and his present reign in heaven and earth.

f. Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death once and for all time of our representative and substitute, Jesus Christ, the only mediator between God and man.

g. Justification as God's act of undeserved mercy, in which the sinner is pardoned all his sins, and accepted as righteous in God's sight, only because of the righteousness of Christ imputed to him, this justification being received by faith alone.

h. The need for the Holy Spirit to make the work of Christ effective to the individual sinner, granting him repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ.

i. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit in all those thus regenerated, producing in them an increasing likeness to Christ in character and behaviour, and empowering them for their witness in the world.

j. The only holy universal Church, which is the Body of Christ, and to which all true believers belong.

k. The future personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge all men, executing God's just condemnation on the impenitent and receiving the redeemed to eternal glory.

IMPORTANT NOTE

All those involved in whole-hearted fellowship with SCI, should personally believe, teach, and follow the above statement of faith, whilst eschewing all that is deviant from it.

Since signing an agreement to a doctrinal statement can be taken as a mere formality, SCI assesses the doctrinal belief of the individual by what they say and do amongst whom they minister.

Point a., The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead, can only mean that God is disparate from any traditional deity. Thus, the doctrines of all traditional religions are contrary to this doctrinal basis.

This means that there must not be any mixing of God or the Bible with paganism or superstitious concepts or words, as they are irreconcilable.

ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

Sharing Christ Internationally is an evangelical mission. It is run by a mission Board, who deal prayerfully with the spiritual and practical aspects of mission, based on Biblical concepts. Those who volunteer to serve God through SCI are accountable to this Board.

The board meetings involve any members of the whole Body of Christ who pray for the work and support it. It is these people who elect and appoint the board. The mission is then a ministry of the Body of Christ.

Sharing Christ Internationally was registered as a charity in the United Kingdom in 1988, under the registered charity number 328110. This means that it has financial accountability at State level. The registered details can all be found on the website of the UK State run Charity Commission
